Dr. Brandon A. Boyd works at the University of Missouri as the the Assistant Director of Choral Activities and the Assistant Professor of Choral Music Education. He teaches choral conducting and choral music education classes at the undergraduate and graduate level.

Dr. Boyd has earned three degrees, a PhD and a Master’s from Florida State University, and a B.S. in music education from Tennessee State University. He has directed many community choirs in Florida, and is a member of Chorus America, the American Guild of Organists, the National Association of Negro Musicians, the National Association for Music Education, and the American Choral Directors’ Association. He also conducts some fascinating research into choral music education and musical therapy.

Boyd recently became the new editor for Gentry Publications, and we are delighted to have him onboard. Aside from his teaching and editing, he is also a fantastic composer of choral music. His music is published with Hinshaw.
