A Ceremony Of Spirituals – SSAA

A Ceremony of Spirituals is modeled after Benjamin Britten’s A Ceremony of Carols. The spirituals compiled in this work convey the events surrounding the birth of the Christ-child. The work comprises two distinct sections – the proclamation of Jesus’ birth followed by the adoration of Mary and the baby Jesus. Scored for treble voices and harp, A Ceremony of Spirituals captures the wonderment and tenderness of the season. Best suited to middle school, high school, collegiate, church and community treble choirs, it is a perfect companion piece to the Britten work or as an alternative option.
