Allen Pote is a highly esteemed composer of sacred music who has been awarded numerous commissions for new works and whose published choral pieces have had significant performance throughout the years.
Pote has held positions as a respected clinician for festivals and workshops as well as as the music director for churches. With his wife Susan, he co-founded and co-directs the Pensacola Children’s Chorus. He has won numerous distinctions for his musical programming, his involvement in volunteer work, and his choral guild affiliations.

Who is Saint Francis of Assisi?
St. Francis of Assisi, Italian friar, resided in Italy in the 13th century. He was committed to Christian charity and led a life of asceticism and deprivation. He is recognized for his work with the downtrodden and the destitute, his concern for the the natural world and wildlife, and for founding the Franciscan order. He lived his life as a wealthy and comfortable son of a prosperous merchant, until God made use of a chance encounter with a a social outcast to transform St. Francis’ perspective on life. Because he his heart was changed and he loved all living things, it is said he even preached to the birds, St. Francis was named the patron saint of the environment and animals.
