Since its founding in 1963, the University Chorale at Oklahoma Baptist University has been the institution’s premier mixed ensemble. Comprised of OBU’s finest singers selected through auditions, the Chorale’s mission has always been to present advanced choral literature to the OBU campus and community. The ensemble maintains an active performance schedule both on campus and throughout the state and region.
The University Chorale has recently performed at prestigious events such as the Southwestern Division Conference of the American Choral Directors Association, The Church Music Workshop, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, the Oklahoma State Youth Choir Festival, and the Oklahoma Music Educators Association In-service Workshop.
The Chorale’s recent tours have included performances in California, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas, showcasing their talents across a wide geographical area.
Hinshaw Music’s choral series editors are well established arrangers, composers and conductors representing the finest of our time. Each series includes an artistically venerable repertoire of selected choral music that can be distinct in terms of theme, mood, season, genre, or uniquely diverse within a series collection. From vocal solo hymns to large-scale oratorios, choir directors will find arrangements for both sacred and secular performances, well established traditional works and inspiring contemporary pieces for choirs of all skill levels and voicing abilities.
