Description
A choral setting of “White Pansies” by Canadian poet, Archibald Lampman who wrote the poem in 1894 in response to the death of his young son, Arnold, this darkly beautiful imagery and quiet devastation of the text are a solemn reminder to never take any moment for granted. Hammell’s interpretation of Lampman’s words emerges in the form of an aching, lamenting lullaby for a loved one lost far too soon. Appropriate for SATB high school, collegiate and community choir concerts on themes of remembrance.
