Illuminate – SATB

$5.05

Description

“Illuminate” is a work written for the National Concerts series at Carnegie Hall. The poem explores themes of forgiveness of others and oneself and working toward letting go and moving forward from difficult experiences. The ‘dream’ is used as a metaphor to highlight our ability to transform ourselves despite challenges we may encounter. Drawing inspiration from Robert Desnos and Rabindranath Tagore, the words used are striking and jarring, conveying a sense of urgency and intensity. Ultimately this piece is a reminder to us of our need for deeper compassion toward others and oneself, and how the past does not define who we are, or who we are constantly striving to become.
